Turbospoke Review

Did you ever use clothes pins to attach playing cards to your fork or chain/seat stays so that they stuck into the spokes? It made a lovely clicking noise as you zoomed down the street. It might be an age thing, since I grew up in the 60's, but I sure loved doing it when I was a kid? I put them on my lovely banana seat Sting Ray as I recall?

Garmin Edge 500 - First look and Review

Go to http://www.gramslightbikes.com/2010/07/garmin-edge-500-review.html for the full review!

I had read about the new Garmin Edge 500 in early September, and was very fascinated by the features of the unit. It is more comparable to my Edge 305 then the Edge 705, since it doesn't have the 705's maps and routing capabilities. What it does have is a lot of the newer technology that has evolved from the Edge series engineering and knowledge base, and it has been rolled into a lightweight and small package.

SixSixOne 4x4 and 2x4 Armor Review

I first saw the SixSixOne 4x4 and 2x4 soft body armor while I was at Interbike this year. The 'x4' series of soft armor, is comprised of the 4x4 (Knee/Shin), and the 2x4 (Elbow/Forearm) guards. They both use an EVA foam padding as the main structural protection entity with some nylon inserts for rigidity and additional protection, while the main body is made from a Denier nylon shell with a Coolmax liner, and it's held together with Velcro closures.

My lovely daughter Rachel took the following winning picture last year at Thanksgiving when we had a monster 26 inch snowstorm. The biking was fine until you had to turn! Very deep powder, that was at least light and fluffy.

WeeHoo i-Go Child Trailer Review

I first saw the WeeHoo i-Go bike trailer in August this year at the Rocky Mountain Bike Show, and I was very intrigued by the design. It's a child bike trailer in which the occupant sits in a recumbent position, and the child (aka the copilot) can pedal, assisting the driver, or just sit, relax and enjoy the views.

Pearl Izumi Versa Short, P.R.O Versa and Elite Versa Jersey Review

Mountain biking is sort of an odd sport when it comes to apparel. Looser and more comfortable clothing is paramount, and getting the high tech materials that have come from the technological advancements in road racing is an excellent benefit. Consider it the trickle down effect! There are 2 camps of mountain bikers, ones that dress a bit more like roadies, and those that wouldn't be caught dead wearing Lycra.
