Syncros had a couple of interesting product that are new to 2011. They have added a truly unique freeride stem aptly named the FRIC, or FreeRide Intelligent Clamp. The stem uses a 260 degree wrap around clamp for the bars, and compresses around the steerer tube with a set of center bolts. The unit is cold forged, instead of the usual industry standard of CNC, which means a stronger and lighter weight product with additional clearance. To insert the bars you have to pop in the narrow part of the bars first, since the oversized section won't fit
-124 grams / 45mm extension
MSRP: $79.95 (Black)/$89.95 (White)
The new rigid Syncros FL Carbon 29er Fork comes in at a lightweight 580 grams, and uses a monocoque crown and steerer assembly, with carbon dropouts and disc brake tabs. It has stout 34mm blades, for excellent strength and stiffness, and can accommodate fat 2.5 inch tires. It comes in a somewhat subdued color scheme, but the entire unit is pretty slick and trick.
- 38mm offset and 485mm Axle-to-Crown distance
MSRP: $549.00 (29” and 26”)
The new FL DS25 29er wheelset is a nice addition to it brethren 26" version, and the 25mm wide rim, has a wide internal spacing of 19mm, which should give good stiffness, and allow some big and fat tires for tough terrain. The hand built 28 hole rim are tubeless ready, in 9 or 15mm options, and are laced up with DT comp spokes on their FL hubs.
- Weight: 870g (f), 1008g (r)
MSRP: $859.90
And of course don't forget the uber wide 1000mm bars! Yes, they are a joke.
