DT Swiss was showing off some trick new 29er products, including wheelsets, rims and forks. They have a wicked carbon tubular wheelset (XRC 950T-29) that comes in at 1200 grams that the Scott Swisspower team is racing in Europe. Although pricing hasn't been announced, you might want to take out a second mortgage if you want a set, and they should be available around mid-summer.
The 29er version of the Tricon wheel (XM1550-29) weigh in at 1750 grams, and use a new hub named the 180 ceramic, that are made with a carbon hub shell to save additional weight. It is available in a 15mm or 9mm front, and multiple rear configurations, and is tubeless compatible, and costs around $1500, and will be available this summer.
To compete in a wider breadth of the market, they have the M1800 wheels. It has a tubeless rim, and standard hubs and spokes, weighs in the 1900 gram range, and costs around $600. Lastly, they have some new welded rims, instead of pinned, which are 24mm and 26 mm wide, and weigh 450 grams and 490 grams, and cost around $80.
The new 29er fork (XMM series), comes in a 100mm and 120mm version, and uses their Twin Shot damping technology, magnesium lowers, and is available in both tapered and straight steer tubes, and has a price point of $700-800. The XMM120-29 weighs a respectable 3.7 lbs or 1650 grams.
