Just In - K-EDGE GO BIG Camera Mounts

The GoPro plastic mounts work decently, but the knobs are difficult to tighten by hand, and they usually require a large screwdriver to torque them down enough to prevent the housing from creeping. Even when they are tightened down properly, the housing can still move if you accidentally hit it too hard while riding. There are some tricks you can do to prevent unwanted movement, such as roughing up the smooth plastic pivots with some sandpaper, but it can still move on occasion, which can ruin your recorded video footage.

Enter the K-EDGE GO-BIG camera mounts, made from 6061 T6 aluminum alloy, which are well made, burly and come with a lifetime guarantee. The CNC mounts come in four versions, the Pro Handlebar, Handlebar, Pro Saddle Rail and GoPro Adapter. They currently come in three colors, gunmetal gray, red and black. All the mounts use 3mm hex head bolts, and the camera to mount connection is the default 3 into 2 toothed GoPro set up.

Once these suckers are clamped down, neither the mount nor the camera is going to move, making for a rock-solid camera connection to their respective attachment points. Removing some of the inherent slop from GoPro mounts creates video footage with better clarity, less jello-vision and motion artifacts, all of which offer a better-quality end product.

CamelBak Charge 450 Review

The pack is an excellent lightweight entity, that makes use of light materials and a minimalist design, for a pack that seamlessly conforms to your back, for superb comfort and conformability. It's meant for everyday adventures, with enough capacity, features and pockets for long forays into the backcountry. The feathery light pack all but disappears while being worn, and it uses nylon fabric, a softly padded and flexible back, and comes with their excellent Antidote Reservoir.

SCOTT Dreambike for Wheels4Life

SCOTT Dreambike and Wheels4Life

SCOTT has partnered with Crankbrothers to help raise money and awareness for Wheels4Life by auctioning a SCOTT Genius LT 30 Dreambike.

Scared of Heights?

I have been watching this amazing and scary video the last couple of days, which is going viral within the mountain biking community. The trail has lots of exposure on the singletrack and ladder bridges, and it made my palms sweaty while viewing it. The POV camera does make the drop offs look steeper then they actually are, but it's a long ways down, and it's not a place you want to blow a line!

“FLYIN BRIAN” LOPES SIGNS WITH MAGURA

Olney, Il 12/15/2011:
Multi Talented athlete Brian Lopes has partnered with Magura to meet his braking needs for 2012 and beyond. After hearing about the new MT Series brakes from Magura, Lopes contacted Magura last summer because he was looking for a disc brake that would meet his strong expectations and high standards and also hold up to the abuse that he dishes out on a daily basis.

"Magura brakes have been on my radar for a while and after finally riding them I was definitely stoked at the weight and performance benefits they offered. Besides the fact that I have had no fade issues at all and they're stealthy quiet, they also have the best modulation I’ve ever experienced," says Lopes.

Lopes is riding the recently launched super light MT8, the first disc brake in the industry with a full carbon master cylinder, and the freeride optimized MT6 on which he has already ridden his Magura equipped Ibis to to some major wins including the Crankworx Whistler Enduro DH , Crankworx Colorado Rainmaker DH, Crankworx Colorado Dual Slalom and the Llinars Spain DH where he set the new course record.

I had a lot of decisions, but SCOTT-3Rox was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. SCOTT's pursuit of excellence and dedication to racing shows in their incredible line up of bikes; I can't wait to ride and race the Spark and Scale. It was also a big deal to me that SCOTT showed a desire for a long-term commitment; I am really excited about several ideas we discussed and their plans for the future. Partnering with the 3Rox program and the support I will have from them was also a big factor in my decision. Just In - New Ashima Ai2 Lightweight Rotor

Ashima sent along a set of their new 2012 Ai2 lightweight rotors for testing to coincide with its product launch at the Taichung Bike Week, which is taking place in Taichung Taiwan this week. Ashima has been making some very trick lightweight rotors for quite some time, and I have used their AiRotor product since it was in its beta stage. In direct comparison to the AiRotor, the new Ai2 rotors are 20% lighter, have larger cutouts and a more wavy and undulating pattern, and the struts are steeper and have been additional bracing.
